Dr. Griffin is past Co-President of the International Forum for Psychoanalytic Education and Co-chair of the History of Psychoanalysis committee. She received psychoanalytic training at the Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles.
Dr. Griffin’s background is interdisciplinary with degrees from the fields of public health, education, religious studies, psychology, social work and contemporary psychoanalysis.
She holds two Masters degrees, the first from Dominican College in conjunction with the Graduate Theological Union. She earned her M.S.W. from University of Southern California, Ph.D. from the University of Utah and Psy.D. from the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis. She is licensed in California as a psychologist PSY #14749.
Her research and writing interests are in the arts and literature, psychoanalytic history, and how culture, historical and contemporary, effects our humanity.
